• Introduction to integers and the coordinate plane (4 quadrants)

• Expressions, equations, and inequalities

• Statistics: analyzing data sets and measures of central tendency

• Reading comprehension: understanding main ideas, themes, and details in novels and short stories

• Vocabulary development through context and word analysis

• Writing clear, organized paragraphs and multi-paragraph texts

• Using evidence from texts to support answers and arguments

• Speaking and listening skills for discussions and presentations
