Welcome to the 5-6 Learning Community!
As students transition “upstairs” into the 5th and 6th grade community, they step into a space designed to nurture independence, curiosity, and collaboration. Here, students begin rotating classes with a team of teachers who support them in becoming more organized, reflective, and responsible learners.
Our learning is driven by meaningful, real-world Project-Based Learning units that connect deeply to students’ interests and the world around them. Students launch small businesses in the Mav Market, explore personal passions through our Identity Project, become champions of unsung heroes in our American Revolution project, and even venture into the cosmos during our Space Science unit. Through it all, they engage in work that is hands-on, creative, and rooted in community connections.
This is a place where student voice matters, curiosity is celebrated, and every day brings something new. We can't wait to welcome you upstairs!
