Meet...Ms. Marxmiller
Dear 3rd Grade Families,
Welcome to 3rd grade! I am so excited about the school year and look forward to meeting each of you. I look forward to a wonderful and memorable school year! Let me begin by introducing myself….
I am a former Rock Creek resident and a native of Stone Mountain, Georgia. I received my BS in Psychology and educator license from the University of Colorado in 1991. Prior to that, I attended the University of Denver on a full gymnastics scholarship for 2 years. During my three year tenure at CU, I was the captain of the cheerleading squad for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and volleyball. It was very exciting to cheer for the team when they won the 1991 National Championship football game in the Orange Bowl against Notre Dame! In August 2006, I received my Master’s Degree in Instruction and Curriculum.
I began my teaching career with Boulder Valley School District in 1991. My first 5 years were teaching 1st grade (1 year) and 2nd grade (4 years) at Heatherwood Elementary. In 1996, I transferred to Superior and began teaching 2nd grade until 2018 (22 years). This is my 5th year teaching 3rd grade. I am one of two remaining founding teachers (Mrs. Huffman) at our school. I was very fortunate to be part of the planning committee, which helped order all the learning materials, from books to globes, desks to computers. What a FUN and unique experience! I have really enjoyed seeing Superior Elementary grow into the AMAZING school it is today:)
I am the proud parent of 3 sons... Avery (27), Connor (26), and Braden (20). They are the absolute joy of my life. I also earned a bonus daughter in love, Tilly. YAY!!! They just had my first grandchild, Hutson. I am over the moon in LOVE! I enjoy the outdoors, golf, skiing, road biking, triathlons, hiking, concerts, cooking, entertaining, movies, music, traveling and watching CU sporting events, especially football. GO BUFFS !!!
Warmest regards,
Carrie Marxmiller
