Audition Information

Informational Packets are posted on the Musical Theatre Board. Please sign up for an audition time when taking packet!

The complete audition packet consists of the following:

• Audition Overview & Information
• Sheet Music (select based on your vocal part/choice)
• Audition Form (fill out and bring completed to your audition)
• Parent/Student Consent & Contract (fill out and bring completed to your audition)
• Conflict Calendar (fill out and bring completed to your audition)
• Health Form (fill out and bring completed to your audition)

VOCAL AUDITION INFORMATION

All auditions will be completed with one of the songs listed below.

If you have another vocal selection that you would like to do in addition to the one listed below, we will hear NO MORE than 32 bars of that selection in addition to the piece below. This is NOT required. This piece may NOT be from Beauty and the Beast. This piece will be sung unaccompanied (you may play a starting pitch).

AUDITION SIDES / COLD READING

PDFs of the Auditions Sides for Cold Reading will be posted here around one (1) week prior to the audition. YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED A CHARACTER TO READ AT YOUR AUDITION -- YOU WILL NOT KNOW THIS AHEAD OF TIME. You might be asked to read various sides and/or various characters. So, please be prepared and read through these to know what each side is about.

AUDITION TIPS

Here are some audition tips that you can use to help you prepare for the audition process:

• Know your schedule and be honest about it!
  • Please use your CONFLICT CALENDAR to let us know what your conflicts are
• Know the show that you are auditioning for!
  • Nothing is worse for a director than having to explain the general idea of the show. We have posted the show synopsis and character information for you to read and have an idea of what you are reading!
• Know any special requirements!
  • Accent? Hair Requirements? Juggle? Gymnastics?

At the auditions here are some tips to help you through the audition itself:

• Please DO NOT:
  • Come in and tell us that you are sick, were up all night, etc.
  • Come in and tell us that your voice isn't as good as it normally is, etc.
  • Tell us that you know the show if you don't...
