Big Valley Christian School has over 900 preschool through 12th-grade students on campus! That’s 900 students nurtured and equipped by over 120 educators during the 2023-2024 school year. One of the things I look forward to the most is sharing the great updates and highlights with you! Let’s take a look at the first month of school!
Christ-Centered: We were able to take our high schoolers to Hume Lake Christian Camp for a three-day retreat! It was a fantastic way to kick off our year, dedicating it to the Lord. Also, we kicked off the year with an amazing All School Chapel, where we shared our theme for the year: Love Like Jesus.
Security: BVCS has hired an outside, armed security guard to be on campus during the school day. Additionally, we desire to add the Raptor security check-in system. If you're interested in helping with these (or any projects), you can see a complete list of BVCS dream projects here.
Staff: Investing in our teachers is imperative as we strive to achieve the highest level of Christian education! We’ve started the year with training in robust instructional strategies:
Elementary is going through in-depth training with their new curriculum adoption.
Junior High and High School went through cooperative learning instructional strategies (Kagan).
Athletics & Theatre Arts: Football, volleyball, cheer, and cross country are all up and running, under the mentor/discipleship of our fantastic coaching team.
BVCS now has an Endowment Fund! The newly launched Legacy Fund is an endowment fund that will provide long-term support for BVCS independent of tuition income. You can learn more about the Legacy Fund here.
August Recap Video: Please watch this video to see more of the great things happening at BVCS!
Financial Partnership: Tuition alone does not cover our annual expenses. Through fundraising (Golf, Do-a-Thon, and Auction) as well as ongoing gifts to the IMPACT Fund, BVCS is able to provide excellence in Christian education. I’d like to ask you to prayerfully consider supporting BVCS during the 2023-2024 school year by financial participating in our upcoming fundraisers, as well as giving to the BVCS IMPACT Fund. You can give your tax-deductible gift by clicking this link or by heading to bvcs.org/impact. Because of your gifts to the IMPACT Fund, you’re helping make it possible for us to live out our mission to nurture and equip students to impact the world for Christ!
Blessings,
Michelle Mott,
Superintendent, BVCS
SEPTEMBER'S PARENT & STUDENT INFO SESSION

VOLUNTEER
We need you! Volunteer by going to our Helper Helper app. Check back regularly for updated opportunities.
GET CONNECTED
We believe that the Christian life is best lived in the context of community. In a Life Group, you will find a place to connect with other Christians, study God’s Word, and encourage one another as you pray, care, and share life together.
The purpose of Life Groups at Big Valley Grace is to connect believers together in small communities where they will grow in their relationship with God and each other as they walk through life together. Life Groups offer opportunities to support one another and to serve and reach their world for Christ.
SERVE
There's an exciting serve opportunity for anyone 13 years old and up! The Miracle League of Stanislaus County is looking for Buddies for their special athletes. Their field is located on our property right next to the Pelandale slip-ramp onto our campus. Opening Day is just around the corner and they need your help. Sign up to be a part of this special ministry for those with special needs in our community.
COMING SOON - COMING OUT AGAIN: ONE DAY CONFERENCE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14 @ CALVARY CHAPEL
Kris Olsen, founder of Coming Out Again Ministries, along with Kevin Whitt and Chloe Cole, will share their testimonies of how God rescued them from same-sex attraction and transgenderism. They will also provide a biblical model for reaching the LGBTQ community with the Gospel message, speaking the truth in love without compromising truth.
Erin Friday, an attorney, and advocate for parents rights, will share her experience walking her own teenage daughter out of the trap of transgenderism. Erin will also provide parents with the information needed to protect their own children from the hostile agenda of Sacramento legislators who are pushing the LGBTQ agenda.
In our closing session we will provide a biblical apologetic to equip attendees with the foundation to lovingly engage those who oppose the biblical truth regarding God’s design for human gender and sexuality.
Cost is $20 per person, which includes the conference and lunch.
We shared a staffing update that will take place starting the 2024-2025 school year. You can read the email/letter here:
