What an amazing week of Chapels! We're so grateful God has allowed us to be in His Word, the Bible, together each week. This past week we talked about how man looks at the outward appearance. God looks at the heart. The question we will continue to ask all year long is "who sits on the throne in our hearts?" Today, I (Pastor Jeff) gave our K-6 students our first PJCC (Pastor Jeff's Chapel Challenge) of the year. I challenged the students, "could they treat others the way they want to be treated?" (Matthew 7:12). This comes from understanding that all humans are image bearers of God (Genesis 1:27). Those who have believed in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9 & Romans 10:9-10) are sons or daughters of God. Therefore, we are to treat everyone the way we would want to be treated.
This weekend, take a moment as a family to ask each other, "Are we treating others the way we want to be treated?" Thank you, BVCS families, I hope you have a great weekend!
4th-6th will have chapel from 9:15am-9:45am every Friday.
Kindergarten will have chapel from 10am-10:25am every Friday.
As always, you are welcome to join us as parents, we want you to be there. Please find the ability to watch the live stream below.
This year our theme is "David - Shepherd, King, Servant". This year we will be studying the life of David in Scripture. Our theme verse is 1 Samuel 13:14, "But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.” As we spend time in God's Word, the Bible, together this year, we will be asking one driving question, "Who sits on the throne in your heart?" It's my desire, as your Campus Pastor, to help lead our students, families and staff into ensuring it is God who sits on the throne in our hearts.
