Our goal with this part of the Friday @ 5:00 is to give you, as the parent(s), resources to have conversations about Jesus, with your family.
This week in Chapel we talked about Romans 3:23 and the statement, "All have sinned..." What does Paul mean when he writes this in Romans? Does this mean we're all terrible people? Is Paul angry at just the believers in Rome and condemning them? Paul is laying out that we are all guilty of sin and there is nothing we can do to save ourselves from eternal separation from God. Paul wants to make certain we know we need Jesus. This is not Paul being rude or condemning us, instead, Paul is sharing the most loving truth anyone could ever share. That truth, is we need Jesus!
Over the weekend, take a moment with your kids, as a family, to talk about what it means that we have all sinned. Why do we need Jesus? Why did Jesus come, live a perfect life, die a perfect death, be resurrected by the power of God the Father, appear to 500 witnesses and ascend into heaven? The answer, is found in God's Word, in 1 John 4:19.
