This week in Chapel we talked about the friendship between David and Jonathan. We read from 1 Samuel 18:1-4 and 1 Samuel 20. In 1 Samuel 18:1 we read "...the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David,...". David and Jonathan were best friends, looking out for each other, honoring one another. God has called us to do the same for our friends. In Romans 12:9-15 and Philippians 2:3-4 Paul reminds us to be genuine in our love, honor one another and look out for the interests of others ahead of our own.
Over the weekend, take a moment to discuss as a family, "how can we put someone else's needs ahead of our own?"
As always, you are welcome to join us as parents, we want you to be there. If you would like to watch chapel through the live stream, please use the links below.
This year our theme is "David - Shepherd, King, Servant". This year we will be studying the life of David in Scripture. Our theme verse is 1 Samuel 13:14, "But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.” As we spend time in God's Word, the Bible, together this year, we will be asking one driving question, "Who sits on the throne in your heart?" It's my desire, as your Campus Pastor, to help lead our students, families and staff into ensuring it is God who sits on the throne in our hearts.
