Dear BVCS Families,
As we step into this new school year together, we want to take a moment to celebrate what God is doing at BVCS and share with you a few important highlights from this month: a recap of our School Board meeting, the 2025–26 budget, and the start of our year on campus. These updates reflect our ongoing commitment to ROAR forward—standing firm in our faith and fierce in our calling—as we partner with you in your child’s journey.
The School Board met in August to pray for our staff and students and to steward the resources entrusted to BVCS with wisdom and faithfulness. A few key takeaways:
The Board expressed gratitude for the strong staff who have welcomed new families with warmth and excellence.
They affirmed the importance of staying true to our mission while telling the BVCS difference consistently: a Christ-centered education that blends academic rigor with discipleship, service, and community.
They approved the finalized budget for the 2025–26 school year, with continued focus on investing in teachers, staff, and mission-aligned priorities.
The board approved all new faculty hires and tuition assistance applications.
Budget Snapshot
As part of their stewardship, the School Board reviewed and approved a nearly balanced budget for this school year:
Projected income: $7.08M, with the majority from tuition.
Major expenses: $7.31M, with over 70% invested directly in teachers, aides, and staff salaries and benefits.
After factoring in income from IMPACT FUND events and gifts, the projected net result is a very small deficit of ~$10K—essentially a balanced budget.
The takeaway is clear: the Board is committed to prioritizing people first, ensuring that our staff are well-supported, and stewarding resources so that every dollar advances our mission.
Our campus came alive as we launched into the school year with moments that reflect the heart of BVCS:
Back-to-School Weekend at Big Valley Grace brought together BVG in prayer. Thanks to the service of 14 BVCS staff, our time under the sails was a joyful connection point, and educators were celebrated with café drinks as a small token of appreciation.
First Week of School: From Preschool to High School, classrooms were filled with joy, energy, and delightful momentum. Teachers modeled Christ-centered leadership, students were welcomed with care, and families experienced the warmth of our community.
All-School Chapel: One of the most powerful moments of the year is when we gather as one school body to dedicate the year to the Lord. The unity, worship, and focus on Christ in that moment exemplified the BVCS difference in action. And the student leadership was incredible!
In every classroom, hallway, and event, it's easy to see what sets BVCS apart:
Christ is at the center of all we do.
Faith and learning are integrated, equipping students not just academically but spiritually.
Relationships are intentional, with staff walking alongside students in discipleship and encouragement. No one cares for students like our staff!
Our community culture is strong—joyful, prayerful, and unified in mission.
We are deeply grateful for each of you. Your presence, your faithfulness, and your daily commitment to our mission are what make the BVCS difference real and alive.
Let’s continue to move forward with confidence, prayer, and unity—trusting that the Lord will use our efforts this year to impact lives for His Kingdom.
With gratitude,
Bobby and Michelle
