Our goal with this part of the Friday @ 5:00 is to give you, as the parent(s), resources to have conversations about Jesus, with your family.

Today, in Chapel, we finished our mini-series about going to Church. As believers, we have been commanded by God to go to church. But the church is not a building or a place, it is a gathering of believers as they come together to worship God through song, preaching of the Word and community. Therefore, there is still an element of going to a place in order to gather together. Our message today focused entirely on evangelism. As believers, Jesus has commanded us to practice evangelism, we refer to it as one of the spiritual disciplines to be lived out in our daily lives. We challenged our students today, when was the last time we shared our faith in Christ with someone?

This weekend take a moment to stop as a family and ask God, how can we share our faith with someone this weekend? Look for the opportunities God may give you after praying that prayer. This may be something that you and your family are already practicing and if so, great job, keep it up! Ask your child(ren) what is evangelism, or what does it mean to share our faith with others? Over the years Christians have coined many terms and ideas of how to do this. One such phrase is, "Preach the Gospel at all times, when necessary, use words." That's a great quote and refers to the idea of living a life of integrity, but I would change it to "Preach the Gospel at all times, it's necessary to use words." Let's use our words this weekend to share Jesus with someone!
