I wanted to take this opportunity to reach out to you, our parents and guardians, who are an essential part of our team here in the Butler County School System. I am sending this survey to you in order to get feedback from all of you in regards to ideas as we move forward. I know that you have received many surveys in the past several weeks. I hope these surveys show that your input is valued. These surveys provide valuable information and input for us as we make tough decisions moving forward. I want to tell each and every one of you how appreciative I am of your patience, support, and flexibility during this time. We must do everything in our power to ensure a safe and quality education for our students. We will find our way down this path together as we are #ButlerStrong!

Those who signed up for In-Person- have been moved to NTI Online Instruction until we get clearance to go back to in person by the Governor. Our regular in-person teachers will teach them online through Google Classroom. When we go back to in-person they will continue with the same teachers in person.

Virtual- this is a program we have every year at BCS regardless of pandemic or not. This is an option we currently have for middle and high school kids. It is a self paced program known as Edmentum Courseware. The students earn course credits while working a flexible online schedule. The kids need to commit to this for the entirety of the term to finish the credits. If they switch out of this mid term they will not be able to receive their credit for work completed in the program.

All schools will function under guidance and collaborations of the Barren River Health Department and the Kentucky Healthy at Schools guidance document.

Students in 1st-12th grade will be required to wear masks during transitions and in classrooms when appropriate social distancing is not possible. Masks will be provided for those who do not bring their own.
Symptom screening for all staff and students to include daily temperature checks
Students with symptoms will be isolated under adult supervision and parents will be contacted
Social distancing in common areas with signs and floors marked for safe distance
Hand sanitizing stations placed throughout the schools
Increase cleaning protocols in all areas of the school (classrooms will be scheduled for cleaning when students exit rooms)
Increase frequency of hand washing
Recess/breaks will be outside weather permitting
Visitors will have limited access
Limit group gatherings
Each individual school will release information regarding daily schedules and procedures based upon the unique differences in building, student age level and special circumstances.
