Social Worker Corner
Hello Spartans! Welcome to the 2023 - 2024 School Year. I invite you to participate in these social emotional check- ins. There is a lot going on but I hope you spend time checking in with yourself, learn strategies for staying mentally healthy, and connect with each other.

The school year can be confusing, stressful, and challenging for many of us. It is normal to be struggling more than usual and to need extra support. Ms. Arlene and (MSWI) are here for you!
We can discuss but not limited to the following:
Feeling sad, alone, depressed, or unmotivated
Feeling anxious or “on edge”
Having an emotionally hard time completing your schoolwork
Having trouble socially
If you are experiencing bullying
Having a hard time adjusting to distance learning and life at home
Please also check out the student resources page. Your teachers are also available to help connect you to support services. Together we got this!

Gratitude List: Create a list of all the things you are grateful for. When you think of something new, put it on your list! Keep this list somewhere you will se it EVERY DAY and multiple times a day such as on your fridge, hang it on your bedroom door, put it on a big mirror, anywhere where you will be reminded of all the things to be grateful for.
Spreading Kindness: Doing good deeds for people, or even just offering a smile can help make someone's day. It also boosts our mood and can make us feel better. Write these moments down.
