Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our schools! We are grateful for the time, talents, and support our volunteers provide to our students, teachers, and school community. Your involvement helps create a positive, engaging, and enriching learning environment where every student can thrive.

**Under California state privacy laws, criminal background check results are strictly confidential and cannot be shared or transferred between agencies. If you recently completed a Live Scan for another agency, you must complete a brand-new fingerprinting process specifically for our school district. Each agency uses a unique state-issued code to receive automated, real-time safety updates. We cannot legally access background check results sent to other employers or volunteer groups.**
New Volunteer Requirements Effective July 1, 2026
To help ensure the safety and well-being of all students, California Senate Bill (SB) 848 establishes new requirements for school volunteers. Beginning July 1, 2026, volunteers who interact with students outside the immediate supervision of a parent, guardian, or school employee are required to complete annual child abuse prevention and mandated reporter training as part of the volunteer approval process. All training must be completed annually.
Complete the Required SB 848 Volunteer Training.
Mandated Reporter Training: Click here
To comply with the law, all volunteers must complete the required training within six (6) weeks of the start of the 2026 - 2027 school year. This training will be required annually moving forward.
Receive Approval from the District.
You may begin volunteering once you have received notification from your school site that you have been approved.
If you have questions at any point during the process, please get in touch with your school office; they will be happy to assist you.
