The Berryessa Union School District will launch the 2024-25 school year on Thursday, August 15, 2024!
BUSD will be following the safety guidelines and requirements of the following agencies: (1) the Santa Clara County County Public Health Department (SCCPHD); (2) the California Department of Public Health (CDPH); the Centers for Disease Control (CDC); and, (4) Cal OSHA.
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) updated the COVID-19 health guidance for TK-12 schools effective October 23, 2023. This guidance addresses COVID-19 safety mitigation strategies, hygiene, and the responsibilities of schools and families, which are listed below in summary:
Vaccination – COVID-19 vaccinations are recommended for all those eligible;
Testing – Home antigen testing will be the primary strategy for COVID mitigation at school;
Ventilation – Maintain high quality air ventilation systems for reducing virus aerosols;
Masking – Face masks continue to be strongly recommended;
Hand Hygiene – Continue to reinforce the importance of frequent hand washing;
When symptomatic, please stay home until you get tested.
