Burwell Public Schools--Striving for Excellence.
BPS provides chromebooks for all students in grades 1-12.
Burwell Public Schools is a Google Education school. This means that every student in grades 1st through 12th has a school-issued chromebook and Google account. We rely on these devices and the corresponding Google Education Suite to to make learning more mobile and accessible in the classroom. In recent years, Chromebooks have gone from a tech novelty to an indispensable classroom tool.
Chromebooks help to decrease the "digital divide" and bridge the learning gap between students in low-income school districts and students in high-income ones.
Chromebooks teach students to collaborate and focus. They allow for online, flexible learning that can be done alone in classrooms or connect with others in group settings.
Chromebooks are easy for students and teachers to use. They boot up in seconds, offer plenty of cloud storage, have a long battery life, and have built in online protection and maintenance. They are some of the easiest tech tools around, making them user friendly for young and old.
Chromebooks boost student tech skills. They allow for skills from basic keyboarding to advanced research. Chromebooks come with a variety of apps that can complement the built-in technology.
Chromebooks are affordable tools for schools. As a simplified PC, Chromebooks are hundreds of dollars more affordable. This allows our school to provide them for all of our students instead of a few students.
