This competition is held every year at the end of term 2 and attracts up to 100 students from all over Canterbury. It's open to anyone with an interest in programming from year 9 to 13. Students compete in teams of 3 although occasionally teams of one or two are allowed, but three brains are better!
During the competition you'll try to answer a series of increasingly difficult problems, each worth points depending on their difficulty. The team with the most points (and least penalties) wins!
Recommended languages are Python or C++. Others are available of request but must be Console I/O friendly.
Several previous competitions are hosted on the University of Canterbury's free course Prog4Fun. Sign up to the "Programming Contest Problem Archive" course and have a go to see what the last competitions were like.
CodeWOF is also a great place to test your programming skills and learn along the way.
