About:
My name is Shannon Franklin, and I am the school counselor for Shady Grove Elementary. My family and I moved to Buchanan Dam in May of 2023, and I have been a proud Bulldog ever since. I have two AMAZING children. Brooke is in 6th grade at BMS, and Caleb is our 4th grader at RJ Richey! We LOVE the lake life!
I was raised in Austin and graduated, down the road a bit, from Westwood HS in 1997. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in August 2002 from Southwest Texas State University. In 2010, I earned my alternative certification to become a teacher. I taught for 9 years before earning my Master of Science in School Counseling in 2023 from Angelo State University.
Becoming a school counselor has been my life's calling, and I couldn't be more proud of the work we do here at Shady Grove. Our students are the best, and I am so lucky to be here to help guide them in their journey through life.
