The Student Assistance Program is a confidential, comprehensive, and integrated joint school-community program for prevention, intervention, support, and referral services for students in the areas of high-risk behaviors including the use of alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and addictive behaviors. As a SAC, it is my goal to help students develop healthy coping skills, make positive lifestyle choices, and avoid substance use. Students are protected by federal law, which grants them confidentiality (excluding thoughts or attempts of suicide, reports of abuse or neglect, or threats of wanting to harm someone else). Students wishing to make an appointment should visit the guidance office at BTMS. Students can also request an appointment by emailing Ms. Koutsouradis at ckoutsouradis@burltwpsch.org. Referrals to the Student Assistance Program can be made by anyone. All referrals are confidential.
Students may also seek support from the SAC for...
Managing stress
Peer conflicts
Grief
Suicidal thoughts or self injury
Depression or anxiety
Changes in family - divorce, separation, death, illness
Self-esteem
Eating disorders

High Focus Centers offers a family group at the Cherry Hill site. This group is intended to provide support and education to family members. This service is open to anyone within the community with a teen that struggles with psychiatric and chemical dependency disorders.
