English 1

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is read and watched in English 1 to help students learn more about character traits and how to find them in a person. Using this book helps students build a foundation to picking out parts of a plot line and the what each section means. The outsiders also comes with a paper to help discover hidden traits from characters in the novel that one would not expect. Some examples are Cherry and Dally, Johnny and Sodapop, even Kieth to Pony Boy.
