HEALTH OCCUPATIONS

Health Occupations is a unique four year program which provides students with knowledge and skills to help to prepare them for college coursework towards various medical related careers such as nurse, physician, physical or occupational therapist, paramedic, technician, dietician, and more.

Health Occupations prepares students careers in the health field, such as

  • Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) - performs basic medical treatments, such as collecting specimens, performing lab work, and may assist patients with activities of daily living such as eating, dressing , and bathing.

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - works in physicians’ offices performing duties such as scheduling, correspondence, specimen collection, maintaining the patient chart and processing of insurance claims.

All certified designations depend upon the student’s successful completion of a certifying examination by the National Healthcareer Association (NHAnow.com). Many students graduate this program and continue their education in college in pursuit of healthcare career.
