Children who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence qualify for McKinney-Vento services. This includes students who are:
In a shelter
In a motel, hotel or campground due to the lack of an alternate adequate accommodation
In a car, park, abandoned building, or bus or train station
Doubled up with other people due to loss of housing or economic hardship
Immediate enrollment in school
Transportation to/from school
Access to free meals, educational programs, and transportation to extra-curricular activities to the same extent that it is offered to the other students
