Chromebook Tips
Every week close all tabs and shutdown your Chromebook! This can help to clear out any temporary files or processes that may be slowing down your device.
You must keep your Chromebook charged, letting it discharge completely can be harmful to your Chromebook. Only use BCIT issued chargers!
Chromebook will not turn on or charge - If you have anything connected to this Chromebook (such as a mouse or external hard drive), remove it. Then plug in the charger and press the ‘esc + ↻ + power button' your CB will go into “recovery mode”, be patient it might take a few seconds. Close CB and then open it and you should be able to sign in.
Keyboard typing wrong letters - go to settings and make sure the keyboard is set to US English!
Wi-Fi at BCIT, use only BurlCoSchools-IT.
TrackPad not working, close all tabs and sign out. Power down and then restart your Chromebook.
New students, first time signing into your Chromebook:- username is your ID#@burlcoschools.org and your password is Pleasechangeme!
Do not do any physical modifications to the Chromebook or disassemble the Chromebook!
