Hi! I am Jami Walden, a 15 year veteran teacher with a bachelor's degree in elementary education, and both a masters and specialist degree in curriculum and instruction. I hold an endorsement in reading and in gifted education and hope to soon add one in coaching. But, of all those accomplishments, I am most proud of the 3 little ones in my picture. Aside from being a teacher, I am a mama to these 3 wild boys! I am also a wife to a farmer and we have made our home in Burke County for the last 11 years. As we take this 1st grade journey together, please know that I take my job as teacher to heart and all the little ones that I get the opportunity to teach become my children too. I thank God for the mission field I've been given as a teacher, and can't wait to see your child shine big in their own way. Together we have a big task, but together we can get it done!

Ms. Merla Washington is my right hand in our classroom. This will be our 3rd year as a team, and we are that...a team! Ms. Washington is also a mama to 2 boys and she loves our students in our classroom just as she'd love her own! Her duties in the classroom our immeasurable, but some include stepping into to teach small groups, helping students one on one, and monitoring and assisting when I am teaching in large groups.
