A Description of the Fine Arts Diploma Seal
A Fine Arts diploma seal is a recognition for high school students who have demonstrated proficiency in and dedication to the Arts. Requirements vary by state and district, but they typically include coursework, extracurricular activities, community service, and a capstone project.
When a student chooses to complete the steps to earn their Fine Arts seal, they are showcasing their creativity and talent. Additionally, earning the seal shows potential higher-learning institutions that the student is proficient enough in their Fine Arts knowledge base to successfully enter a rigorous program of study for their chosen field, and could potentially choose a career path in that field.
Specific programs of study for earning the Fine Arts seal at Burke County High School include Visual Arts, Music (Band or Chorus), and Theatre. Please see requirements below.
Overall Requirements
Complete a Fine Arts Pathway:
3 credits in one Fine Arts subject area
4th arts course, either in the same Fine Arts pathway or from a different Fine Arts subject
20 hours of arts-related community service
participation in 2 or more Fine Arts clubs / ongoing activities
Content-created Capstone project
