I am so excited to be Overton Ray's LITE (Library and Information Technology Educator)! Many people ask me why I wanted to become a librarian. The answer is simple. I love books and reading; I love technology; I love the makerspace / design thinking movement, and I love being able to work with both students and teachers - so this is the perfect job for me! I get to do all of those things as a LITE!

I received my undergraduate degree from Baylor University. After teaching for 20 years in the classroom (and loving it!), I went back to get my masters in library science and technology from Texas A&M Commerce.

My husband and I have two children - our daughter graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas honors program in graphic arts and is now a graphic designer for a small company in Fayetteville, AR. Our son is a freshman in the culinary program at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island - which is too far away! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, walking and being outdoors (except in the Texas heat!), learning, and reading (of course).
