Transformational and Servant Leadership
I believe in transformational and servant leadership. Transformational and servant leaders get the most out of their staff and students by forming relationships and creating a culture where every person and every opinion is valued. Awarding teachers and students who go above and beyond to make a difference at our campus establishes a sense of ownership and pride for the campus. Transformational and servant leadership also requires maximizing teams capacity and capability. Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) are just one example of this trait. PLC’s allow teams of teachers to gather data, share ideas, and develop collaborative lessons that will best develop students to be successful. Learning walks and PLC’s are both researched practices that are proven to improve student scores. Transformational leadership also allows teachers to grow into teacher leaders. In a transformational school the vision is developed and shared among all stakeholders. This practice allows teachers to have ownership in the process, develop solutions for school issues, accountability and vision for the future of the school.
