There are numerous activities for cadets to be involved in our cadet corps, the community, and competition. Activities include the following:
Cadet Corps Position -- in essence a job within the cadet corps. Cadets will learn about the various positions within the cadet corps and how cadets are selected to serve in various positions.
Community Service -- a main component of JROTC is serving the community. TX-20008 participates in numerous community service events throughout the school year. Most of these events occur in the evenings and on weekends. Cadets earn community service hours and points towards JROTC Community Service Ribbon (worn on the blue uniform).
Drill Competition -- TX-20008 participates in JROTC drill competitions at various locations throughout the year. Locations can change year to year, depending on which drill competitions the Cadet Corps chooses to enter. Locations in the past have included Corsicana HS, Abilene Cooper HS, San Angelo State University, and San Antonio.
Drill Team Practices -- Drill team practices are after school Monday - Thursday, usually from 3:45 - 5:00 p.m.
Color Teams / Honor Guard Practices -- Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:45 - 5:30 p.m.
Drone Team Practices -- Mondays & Wednesdays, 3:45 - 5:00 p.m.
Awareness Presentation Team (APT) -- Wednesdays, 3:45 - 5:00 p.m.
Raiders Team (NEW) -- this team is just starting/forming, practices will most likely be Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:45 - 5:30 p.m.
Morale Events -- the cadet corps will host various morale events throughout the school year (i.e. back to school party, Christmas party, JROTC Day, etc.)
