BMS Theatre Arts Syllabus

No extra school supplies are required for theatre, but you will need to bring your charged Chromebook and a pencil to class everyday.

Classroom Wish List Supplies: Paper towels, Colored Pencils, Notebook Paper, Pencils.

These are the classroom rules that I feel will enable you to be successful in Theatre Arts:

• Be respectful to others and their property. This is the biggest rule in my classroom!

• Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

• Stay focused and on task.

• Participate when asked and try your best (participation is a MUST in Theatre Arts!)

• Follow all school rules.

• Clean up after yourself before you leave the room.

Phone Policy:

At the beginning of each class, period students will be expected to place their phones in their backpacks. We will not use phones during class. 

Curriculum Outline:

Students will be learning the basic principles of Theatre and incorporating those skills into rehearsals, projects, and performances. In class we will focus on: Improvisation, Vocal Production, Safe Stage Movement, Characterization, Script Analysis, Theatre Technical Elements, Acting Onstage, and more. Students will receive a weekly grade based on their participation in class, as well as larger grades throughout the semester for projects, performances, and group work.
