Executive Cabinet

ASB PRESIDENT

Nadaly Jones

Hello everyone! I am Nadaly Jones, the ASB President of JBHS. As the President my main job is to help keep my fellow ASB members focused and motivated. I am here to support and help my ASBers in any way possible. I lead our ASB meetings everyday, work with the executive cabinet to talk/help each committee, help run workdays, and try to keep ASB working on new ideas/events for JBHS. I have been a part of ASB since 7th grade. I was also my middle school ASB President in 8th grade. I have always loved being a part of ASB and helping put on events for my fellow peers that will create memories to last a lifetime. A little bit about myself: I love being outdoors, hiking, swimming, horseback riding, sightseeing, skiing, and tubing; I love reading and collecting lots of books; I love traveling and have been to 35 states so far; I love animals and learning how to be a better activist; and I love going back home to Georgia to visit my grandpa and help him out with the horses. Melina Zelada

Hi , I'm Melina Zelada and my role in ASB is Vice President ! It is my second year in asb and my last year of highschool. This year I aid or encourage our ASB President in making decisions and fill in when they are unavailable. If needed, this fill in usually happens while running our in class meetings or attending board meetings. I also have the responsibility of approving activities such as clubs that take place on our campus. As Vice President I have my own group of commissioners in ASB to oversee. The committee members I have can come to me with questions and if we were in school normally I would check them off for the work they do such as, making posters and attending work days. Being a part of the behind the scenes of school is what I love about my role in ASB so much. Although we aren't physically at school we try our best to make the year great and still listen to the student body .

ASB EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

Paulynn Alipio

Hey! I’m Paulynn Alipio, ASB Executive Secretary and currently I am a senior. I have been in ASB for the past three years. Within those three years I was also Posters and Athletics Commissioner. As ASB Executive Secretary, every other day we have meetings at the beginning of class. I am in charge of recording the meeting. I type out everything we say during the meeting to make sure we are able to look back and see what we previously talked about. Aside from meetings, I am also a part of our ASB Executive Cabinet which helps monitor our entire ASB. We make sure that everybody is doing their job and contributing to make our school environment better. Not only am I in ASB but I’ve been on the cheer team for four years too. I’ve also been working as a Kumon Tutor to help little kids excel in both their math and reading skills. For my last year of high school, I became a college peer mentor to assist my other senior friends in their college application process. My three favorite classes this year are AP Lit, AP Stats, and Government. Although we won’t be able to see each other in person, I am so excited to make this year the best it could possibly be.

Katie Kennedy

Hi! My name is Katie Kennedy and I am your Legislative Secretary! I am a Junior and this is my 3rd year in ASB! As Legislative Secretary I am in charge of taking attendance and spirit wear, updating the monthly calendar, creating a weekly cleaning schedule and helping with Legislative Council meetings! I’m looking forward to this year!

ASB Auditor

Leoda Khosravi

Hi, my name is Leoda Khosravi! I am a Junior this year and ASB Auditor. As Auditor I approve the spending of our school accounts and plan the ASB Banquet at the end of the year. Also as a part of the Executive Cabinet I make sure that everybody is working to the best of their abilities, are having no problems, and am just someone they can go to for help. I have been a part of ASB since 9th grade. I was Recognition Commissioner and in 10th grade I was Sophomore Vice President. Within the, now 3 years, of being in ASB I have learned so much that I can utilize in the outside world. Aside from ASB, I am also a member of the Student Site Council. I am hoping that ASB as a whole can still make this a memorable year for you all and I am excited to see how we adapt to the situation we are currently in!

Alyssa Valenzuela

Hi! My name is Alyssa Valenzuela and I am your Senior Class President this year :) I am so excited to hold this position and am ready to be creative and make our senior year one to remember. Along with ASB, I am also a part of the softball team, Link Crew, and CSF. Even though we can’t have in person events until further notice, the Senior Class Officers and I are committed to making an amazing senior year for you, by you! I am always open to what you want in your senior year so don’t be shy to contact me! I am so excited to get creative and have fun this year!

Dainva Petrulis

Hi! My name is Dainava Petrulis and this year I was elected to be the Senior Class Vice President! I have been on ASB all four years of high school, so I have a wide range of experience with ASB events. Being a part of ASB has allowed me to stay involved in what happens at Burroughs behind the scenes and also in the spotlight. Since this is my last year at Burroughs, it’s sad that us seniors won’t get to finish our high school experiences like expected, but the other senior class officers and I are striving to make this year memorable and enjoyable. Apart from ASB, I’ve also been a Burroughs cheerleader since freshman year. With academics, I enjoy challenging myself with AP courses, and this year my favorite class is either AP Physics 2 or AP Calculus BC. I don’t think it would be a false statement to say that I am very involved at JBHS and that, under normal circumstances, I spend more time at school than I do at home.

SENIOR TRESURER

Sophie Bruno

Hi, my name is Sophie Bruno and I am your Senior Class Treasurer. I have been a part of ASB for the last three years and have had so much fun. My sophomore year I was Balloon Commissioner and just last year I was Event Commissioner. Remember Tik Tok spirit week? Yeah that was me :) Besides ASB I am also a part of the softball team, Link Crew and the Women in STEM club. My favorite thing about being in ASB is being able to plan all the events going on at school and seeing all the behind the scenes work. My favorite time of year at school by far is Homecoming time. I always have had so much fun dressing up for the spirit weeks and watching the Homecoming game with my friends. In regards to this year, my fellow senior class officers and I are still planning on keeping as many traditions as possible this year but with a bit of a twist. I hope that this year will end on a positive note and I hope to get back on campus soon.

Jurnee Fuentes-Bumpus

Hello John Burroughs! My name is Jurnee Fuentes-Bumpus, and I am the Junior Class President. Throughout a normal school year, my Vice President and I plan events and fundraisers to raise money for future senior events, such as Prom. Going into my second year as Class President in ASB, I believe the most important goal we have is to promote unity, as well as create unforgettable experiences for our student body. Outside of being in ASB, I am in Dance Production and a ton of clubs. I enjoy being involved in a variety of groups around campus because I am super outgoing and energetic. Stay safe JBHS!

Hi JBHS. I am Lucy Cerrato, your Junior Class Vice President for the 2020-2021 school year. My role in ASB is to assist my President and to help budget and plan for our senior year! Laurel Piper

Hey! I’m Laurel Piper, Sophomore Class President! I play travel softball and I play for Burroughs’ team. This is also my second year in ASB, so I'm ready to take on whatever else this crazy year has to throw at us. This year I plan to throw as many events for our class, as I can. I'm super excited to take part in ASB again and helping Sophomore Class have the best experience they possibly can!

Lindsey Mazarei

Hi! My name is Lindsey Mazarei, and I’m your Sophomore Vice President! This is my first year in ASB at JBHS. As vice president, my role this year is to work with the President to create events for the sophomore class. Even though we can’t be in person right now, we are planning fun virtual events! Outside of ASB, I am a part of tennis, track and JSA here at Burroughs. I’m super excited for this school year and hope we can come back together again!

Jewels Hernandez

Hi! My name is Jewels Hernandez, and I'm this year's Freshman President. This is my first year at JBHS and in ASB. As Freshmen President, I will host class meetings at least once per month and do at least two major fundraisers this year. Aside from ASB, I am in UNICEF, Latinos Unidos, and Cancer Relief club. Even though we are not meeting in person this year, I am looking forward to organizing many fun events for our freshman virtually :)

Emily Huerta

My name is Emily Huerta and I am a part of the All-Purpose Committee. As a member of All-Purpose I serve as a helping hand to anyone in ASB that may need my assistance. My previous year I was a part of the Posters Committee. I am a Senior and this is my second year in ASB! Aside from ASB I have been on the Cheer Team for three going on four years now.

Aaron Schlossman

Hi guys, my name is Aaron Schlossman and this is my third year as a part of ASB. As all-purpose commissioner my job is to help other groups and committees. I do things from helping make posters and coming up with new ideas to even help plan big virtual events. Outside of ASB, I love helping others. When school was an in-person thing, I worked in the cafeteria helping students get their lunches.

Jesiah Licardo

Kamusta ka! My name is Jesiah Licardo and this is my very first year in ASB! I am so excited to work with the ASB team this year! As a member of All-Purpose, I help other groups and committees. I am also a poster “outliner” so I help make posts for the official JBHS account. I am a member of the clubs, Key Club, Unicef, and the Filipino Cultural Club. I also own a business named Licardough! I am looking forward to seeing where this year takes me!

Geo Garza

Hi everybody, my name is Geo Garza. I hope everyone is safe and trying their best to do their part during the pandemic. As an Athletic Commissioner, my committee and I represent the amazing and hard working athletes at Burroughs. When in school, we give awards like athlete of the month and year! Since we aren’t in school we’re working on acknowledging our awesome athletes through social media and making sure to spotlight our seniors as well. I try and stay positive and hope for the best. Liliana Gonzalez

My name is Liliana Gonzalez, I’m 17 years old, currently a senior, at John Burroughs High School. I am part of the Athletics Commission and taking part in recognizing athletes and coaches in every way possible. My committee and I are working on “Athlete of the Month” in which we take part in acknowledging athletes for their hard work during their season. I am also part of the Girls’ Soccer program, and was part of the Basketball program Freshman year. My favorite subject is math, along with when I took all three years of American Sign Language.

Chloe Kaitz

Hi my name is Chloe Kaitz and I’m currently a junior. I’ve always enjoyed being involved at my school and have found that ASB is the place where I can contribute my time and effort into bettering Burroughs. I’ve been in ASB for two years now, and this year my position is Athletics Commissioner. My committee and I will be working on “Athlete of the Month” which recognizes hard working athletes at Burroughs on our ASB social media accounts. We also plan on highlighting senior athletes, coaches, and the athletic programs, to keep the community aware of athletics despite the circumstances. Athletics is a very important part of JBHS culture and should continue to be supported by school spirit!

Tiffany Rodriguez

Hi my name is Tiffany Rodriguez and I am a Senior. This is my second year of ASB, previously I was a Publicity Commissioner and now I am a Community Liaison. I work with connecting the Burbank community to the students in our school, through blood drives, charity drives, etc. Being a part of ASB has opened me up to new possibilities. helped my leadership abilities, and problem-solving skills. I’m also a part of the Medical Academy and NAF Council, Pre-Med Club, Link Crew, Portraits of Kindness, and the California Scholarship Federation.

Priscilla Sandoval

Hi, I’m Priscilla Sandoval and I am the Community Liaison for ASB. I am currently a Senior and this is my second year in ASB. I am also involved in the Medical Academy, Portraits of Kindness, and Link Crew here at John Burroughs. My goal for this year is to strengthen the bonds between John Burroughs and our Burbank community by building connections with small businesses all around Burbank, as well as promoting blood drives and charity drives. We are working hard to stay safe while also keeping our community strong! :)

Vivi Cannon

I'm Vivi Cannon, a sophomore here at Burroughs, and I am part of the Events Committee! I'm so excited to help plan events for the student body this year, even with all this chaos with online school. I run Cross Country and Track, and I love the teams and the people I run with. I also recently joined Habitat For Humanity, a club dedicated to volunteering and more. I hope to have an amazing and fun year helping out the student body by planning great events!

Sofia Ferrel

Hi my name is Sofia Ferrel, a senior at JBHS, and I’m a part of the Events Committee in ASB. Being in Events consists of planning Spirit and Kindness weeks, or any events we want to plan that we think the student body will love. Our committee also works with the Spirit Committee to plan out certain events as well. This year I really want to make it one of the most eventful and virtual involved school years!

Kai Lopez

Hi. My name is Kai Lopez and I’m a senior at Burroughs. My role in ASB is being an Events Commissioner. As an Events Commissioner, I have duties such as putting together events such as Spirit Week and Kindness Week. During this school year, I hope to bring the joy of being at school to students’ homes. I look forward to making this year one of the best!

POSTER Commissioners

Linda Tam

Hello, my name is Linda Tam and I am a senior this year. I am part of the Poster Committee in ASB. As a member of the poster committee I would make posters that would be put up around school and help other committees with their events. Because of Covid-19 this year, I will not be making any posters, but instead I will try my best to help with other events such as Club Rush and think about new event ideas that will bring the different demographics of JBHS together. I am very excited to be part of ASB and I cannot wait for what will come in the future! Besides being in ASB I am also the Co-President of Calligraphy Club, the communications officer for CSF, and the social media manager for NAF council. Outside of schools I like to watch asian dramas, play video games, and hang out with my friends, which we cannot do. I have many hobbies that vary from arts and crafts to cooking, but my favorite hobby is baking. Recently, I was accepted for an internship by the bakery Half-Baked Co, which I am very excited for. Mia Terrano

My name is Mia Terrano, and I am currently a sophomore here at John Burroughs HIgh School. This is my first year in ASB as a poster commissioner. Usually I would be making posters that get put up around the school for all the events. As a poster commissioner I would also help contribute to help out other committees with events. This year we are trying to make everything online which is difficult because we can’t make physical posters. Also,I am also a cheerleader on the JBHS JV Cheerleading Team. I have been part of cheerleading for 4 years, and it really helps with my social skills in both ASB and cheer.

Mirabel Ha

Hi ! My name is Mirabel Ha, and this is my first year in ASB. This year I am assigned to be on the Poster Committee. I wanted to do this because I am all about school spirit and having a good time at school. If we were in school, you would probably be seeing me hanging up posters around the school and telling everyone to come to the events. Unfortunately I can't be doing that this year, but trying to make the best out of the situation. I am so excited to be joining ASB this year and looking forward to all the amazing things to come.

Caroline Perez

Hello Burroughs! I’m Caroline, one of the juniors in ASB. My overall High school experience was trying to find a creative outlet for myself, especially with music and through social media. And taking on the job of ASB PR is perfect! Especially, this year with school not being completely normal, ASB relies on social media outlets to release information. So, I believe the most important goal I take on this year is to let the creative person I’ve been evolving into through highschool, create and produce good content for all the Burrough’s Students. But just like everyone else, I’m a normal high school student who's involved with the school, and my passions are: writing and producing songs to create my image as an artist and I’m also a college peer mentor; so I help guide myself and others students through the college process. And so I hope you’re staying safe, and finding your own creative outlet during the time of quarantine!

Wendy Garcia

I’m Wendy Garcia, a senior at John Burroughs. I came to Burroughs during my junior year and joined ASB this year. I love football games, pep rallies and school dances! As a part of the PR team I make posts on multiple social media platforms about Burroughs. I work with other ASB members and anyone else who reaches out with approved information to make posts and keep the study body updated and informed and what’s happening at school.

Juliana Cobb

Hi! My name is Juliana Cobb and I’m a senior at John Burroughs High School. This will be my third year in ASB and I am part of the Publicity Committee. As a Publicity Commissioner, my job is to publicise school-hosted events, work on spirit week posters and, in doing so, I also have the opportunity to work with the PR Commissioners to do the same. Another extracurricular activity I’ve been involved in for the past two years is GMJB. I’ve really enjoyed being involved in all different types of innovative outlets and collaborating with others. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved everything related to the creative arts. Outside of school, I really enjoy lots of things--whether it be something like collecting stationery, painting, or even just spending the night inside and having a movie night with friends. I look forward to working with students to ensure everyone has a great school year. Go Class of 2021!

Malia Nagashiki

Hi! My name is Malia Nagashiki and I am currently a senior. Since this is my first year in ASB, I am really excited for what this school year has in store! I love all of the fun activities that ASB hosts and all of the hard work that goes into all of the events planned. My role in ASB is publicity commissioner, which means that I am in charge of publicizing all the events that ASB hosts, as well as creating posters for spirit weeks. I applied to be a publicity commissioner because I am very creative and I love publicising to the student body since it is a very important role. Outside of ASB, I am a photographer for the Yearbook, historian for Key Club and the Changeworks! Foundation, as well as the co-president of Calligraphy Club. Outside of school, I enjoy doing lots of things such as journaling, spending time with my dog, getting boba with my friends, and listening to music. I look forward to this school year and I truly believe that ASB will do a great job at ensuring a wonderful school year!

Kaylan Silva

Hi! My name is Kaylan Silva and I am one of the juniors here at Burroughs high school.This is my first year in ASB and I am so thrilled to be a part of it! My role in ASB is being a publicity commissioner. As a publicity commissioner, I have duties such as publicizing school events, creating posts/posters for spirit weeks, and increasing school spirit through the form of communication. Aside from being part of ASB, I am a part of the medical academy, link crew, as well as key club. I enjoy being in a variety of clubs and programs here on campus as I am a very outgoing person and I love experimenting new things. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with both my family and friends. I also love shopping and exploring new places. I cannot wait to be a part of ASB this year and bring our ideas for the school alive.

Tyler Cantrell

Hi I am Tyler Cantrell! I am on the JBHS varsity basketball team.// Awesome sauce is my middle name// I have been proud to wear the JBHS logo on my back for 4 years and I intend to give my schools youth motivation throughout these hard times! This will be my first year in ASB and I'm part of the recognition committee. I recognize the students who overachieve in their activities while also recognizing teachers as well.

Marinna Salazar

My name is Marinna Salazar and this will be my third year in ASB. This year, I am a part of the Recognition Committee where I will be recognizing students who go above and beyond in the activities they accomplish throughout the school year. Not only will I be recognizing students, but also teachers as well. I am very excited to be in this position for the 2020-2021 school year.

Mika Rubarts

Hi, my name is Mika Rubarts. I am a freshman and this is my first year in ASB. My job is as a recognition commissioner. I will help to recognize all the wonderful and amazing students and teachers throughout our school. Outside of ASB I am a part of Key club, Pre-med club and Red Cross club. I also enjoy playing lacrosse, dancing and baking. I am excited to work with everyone. I hope everyone has a great school year even while we are apart and I look forward to the day we are all together in person!

Sophia Terrano

Hey guys! My name is Sophia Terrano and this is my third year in ASB. As Spirt Commissioner our role is to help unite the student body and provide them with fun, interactive activities throughout the year. For example we plan the three Pep Rallies every year recognizing all the sports and clubs across campus along with getting many student participants in fun games and challenges. Although this year may be challenging for main our goal is still to ensure all students feel just as included as they would an in-person school year!

Zach Arnold

Hi, I’m Zach Arnold! This is my first year in ASB and I’m one of the Spirit Commissioners. My main role as a Spirit Commissioner is to help create ideas for Pep Rallies. Outside of ASB I am the Tuba Section Leader and a Link Crew Leader here at Burroughs. I am excited for what's to come in the new school year!

Lexi Seale

Hi! My name is Lexi and I am a senior at Burroughs. In ASB, I am one of the Spirit Commissioners. This year I will work to coordinate pep rallies and create a safe and fun way to celebrate our school’s accomplishments and share our Burroughs pride during this strange and unique year! In addition, I am part of the mascot committee, meaning I am doing research and working towards bringing the discussion of changing our mascot to the student body along with a few of my fellow ASB members. This is my first year being part of ASB and I decided to join my senior year because I wanted to graduate high school knowing that I had made a difference at Burroughs. The last 3 years I was on the Dance Team at Burroughs and love to use dance as a creative outlet. I cannot wait to see what this school year brings! Go Burroughs!

Ever Huerta

Hi my name is Ever Huerta! I am a Sophomore and one of the Student Store Commissioners for ASB. I help design the merchindes that we sell in the student store and on our online store. I also help out with all our JBHS gear that we have. I joined ASB to help others and to see how we can improve for our students and see what ideas you guys have. In middle school I joined ASB in 7th and continued into 8th. I was also the student store director. I’m also Vice President of a club Latinos Unidos and a tutor for middle schoolers in social studies. When I’m not in school I love watching sports and I’m a big Lakers and Dodgers fan. I also like taking pictures and going on hikes, I love classic cars, and spending time with friends and family. This year will be one of a kind, I can’t wait to work with all of you and hear all of your ideas.

Sofia Remelius

Hey everyone! My name is Sofia Remelius and I am a junior at JBHS. I am one of this year’s Student Store Commissioners. As a Student Store Commissioner, I design merchandise and other JBHS gear that we sell in the Student Store and online at the JBHS Webstore. When I was in eighth grade, I was in ASB so I am so excited to be a part of it at Burroughs this year! Besides ASB, I am on the Girls Golf Team, Link Crew, and CSF. I am a Publicist for UNICEF Club and the Vice Chair for Burbank Student Mental Health Board. I joined ASB because I love being involved at school and I hope to get others involved too! Bea Conwi

Hi! My name is Marie Beatriz Conwi but everyone calls me Bea. I am a senior in Burroughs. I participate in ASB, Link Crew, and Medical Academy Council. In ASB, I am one of the Student/Faculty Representatives. Our job is to show appreciation and recognize JBHS teachers and staff in a lot of ways and to also try our best to interact with them and tell them all of ASB’s plans for the school year. In Link Crew, I’m in their Academic group wherein we offer tutoring for Freshmen every Friday. I am also one of their ASB Liaisons.

Hannah Fuentes

My name is Hannah Fuentes and I’m currently a senior. This year, I am one of the Student-Faculty Representatives. As one of the student-faculty representatives, our job is to come up with different ways to show appreciation for teachers and staff as well as encouraging them to participate in school activities. This is my second year in ASB and served in the poster committee last year. I’ve been a Burroughs cheerleader all four years and currently am one of the captains of the varsity cheer team.

What’s up everybody!! My name is Ryan Jaramillo and I am one of your Student Outreach Commissioners. My committee tries to keep the students as connected to the school and each other as much as possible. Even though this semester has been rough so far, we are still coming up with fun ways to have the students involved with the school.

Jule Reader

Hey everyone! My name is Jule Reader and I am a Student Outreach Commissioner. I am a Junior and this is my second year in ASB. Last year, as a Student-Faculty Representative, I helped keep the Faculty connected to the school in different ways. This year, my job is to keep the students connected to the school and each other! By keeping students involved and engaged throughout the school year our school community will continue to thrive. I am super excited to put together events that involve all parts of our student body. Along with being in ASB, I am a Link Crew Leader and a member of Burbank’s NCL. Jessica Palaski

Hello, my name is Jessica Palaski and this is my 8th year working with ASB. I spent 2 years as the Senior Class Advisor and the last 6 years as the ASB Advisor. The students are the heart and soul of this organization and I am merely someone who encourages their creativity and facilitates their ideas. As the Advisor, my job is simple; let the students do great things! I am so excited to see what they come up with during this unconventional school year.
