How We Treat Others

Words are Powerful

"Be careful what you say. You can say something hurtful in ten seconds, but ten years later, the wounds are still there." - Joel Osteen

Your words can not only impact someone's day, but they can impact someone for the rest of their life. You may feel as though your words are meaningless or have no effect on someone, but they have great meaning and can affect people more than you realize. YOU have the choice to say something negative or mean to someone OR to say something positive or nice. Think about what kind of person you want to be known as. Do you want to be known for uplifting and encouraging others or do you want to be known for being hurtful and mean? Do you want to be the reason someone smiles today or the reason they cry?

Think before you speak - your words have power, so use them wisely!

Your Actions Matter

“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” - William James

What you do today matters - your actions can affect your well-being and the well-being of others. What you do today can form habits as to what you will do tomorrow and many years down the road.

Your actions show others what you are thinking and feeling, they show others what you value and prioritize. Think about the person you want to become and start acting like that person. Think about the things you care about and value and ensure your actions show it.

“You need to know it's your actions that will make you a good person, not desire.” - Matthew Quick

What is Bullying

“Wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it. Right is right even if no one is doing it.” – St. Augustine

According to the American Psychological Association (2021), "Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort. Bullying can take the form of physical contact, words, or more subtle actions."

Any action that is done intentionally and repeatedly done that brings someone physical, emotional, or social discomfort is bullying.

Take a moment to look at your actions and words, is there anything you do that could be causing someone physical, emotional, or social discomfort?

“Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” – Plato
