Welcome to Ms. Keating's 6th Grade Math Class!
Hi, I am Samantha Keating and I will be your 6th Grade Math Teacher. I am starting my 5th year of teaching and was an instructional assistant before I started as a teacher! I graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelors in Math Education and recently completed a Masters in Teacher Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands. I have always loved math, and teaching was something that was always one of my passions. I grew up in this community and I am so excited to be teaching in the town that raised me! I recently had my son, Cooper in March of 2023. I live in Mount Washington with my husband Jimi, son Cooper, and our dog Daisy Mae.
Philosophy of Education:
I truly feel that all students can learn math and I spend my class time focusing on making that true. I believe in offering students hands on problems based learning experiences to help them build problem solving and collaborative skills. The problem solving skills students learn in math will benefit them for the rest of their lives. In my class we are a team and we work together to make sure that everyone succeeds. Let's make this a wonderful year!
