What is Earth and space science (ESS)?
In this course, you'll develop an understanding of physics concepts and Earth/space science content. You'll accomplish this in a variety of ways, including by learning facts, applying them, and using scientific inquiry to increase the depth of your knowledge! The curriculum broadly focuses on motions and forces, conservation of energy, as well as the increase in disorder, interactions of energy and matter, and energy in Earth's systems. The scientific inquiry approach requires students to work both collaboratively and independently to apply critical thinking skills. The 'big idea' = It's not enough anymore for you to just know and understand things - you must also be able to DO them!

Student work
Parents, please ask your student regularly for access to their work on Google Classroom. All assignments, presentations from class, and any additional learning resources are posted there. Once logged in, please notice three tabs at the top of the page: 'Stream', 'Classwork', and 'People'. Please click the one that says 'Classwork' to view it. If you or your students ever want or need a list of missing work, this is one way to get it. The other way is to check parent portal on Infinite Campus. The most accurate is to check both.
Students, if I hand out any paper materials or assignments in class, it will still be posted digitally on Google Classroom. If you see it was an assignment you missed, you should print it, complete it at home, and bring it to school for a grade. You should not wait or even expect to be notified verbally when you've missed something.
