About Mrs. Bass

My name is Jo-Leigh Bass and this is my 25th year teaching. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, and now I am starting year four in Physical Education. I've been married to Pat for 21 years and we have 2 children. Meredith is 19 and is a sophomore at the University of Kentucky. Tyler is 17 and is a senior at Bullitt East. We also have a 7 year old goldendoodle (the favorite child in the family) named Tanner.

I graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1996 where I cheered for the Panthers. I received my Masters from IU Southeast and my Rank 1 from Indiana Wesleyan. In my free time I love to be outside in the sun, most of the time reading by the pool. When the weather is not so great, you will find me inside crocheting a blanket or reading.

I am passionate about fitness, which led me to be the PE teacher. I enjoy (if you can call it that) going to Crossfit 4-5 days a week and gaining strength and new skills I never thought I would be able to accomplish. This is what I would like to pass along to my students; to develop a love for something active that will stay with them throughout their lives.
