This has been a great opportunity for everyone to have real work experience in the banking industry. This experience impacts students through...

MATH: Students practice authentic, real-world math skills through assisting their peers with deposits, withdrawals, and calculating interests on accounts.
CAREER READINESS: The Charger Bank is a partnership with the People's Bank of Mount Washington. Students go through interviews, are assigned various jobs in the bank, and gain valuable work experience!

The Charger Bank started again this year after a COVID break. The students are able to run a bank through the sponsorship of People's Bank of Mt. Washington. Students in the class interview with People's Bank and then are assigned jobs based on the interviews. The students open accounts, work with deposits and withdrawals, and balance books. The accounts gain interest throughout the year and students calculate the interest.

Ms. Minton's class has been coming into the bank on Tuesdays and Thursdays since the end of September. This has been a great opportunity for everyone to have real work experience in the banking industry. The Charger Bank students enjoy having Ms. Minton's class there and hopefully we can continue this beyond this year. It is great to see all the students working together.
