In line with Division Memorandum No. 482 s. 2023, titled 'Division Training Workshop Enhancing the Competence of EPP/TLE/TVL Futuristic Through Artificial Intelligence (AI),' the training took place from January 29-30-2024, at Casa Cirila Pavilion and Resort, Bulihan Plaridel, Bulacan. It was facilitated by Dr. Joel I. Vasallo, EPS in TLE, as the proponent and program manager of the activity. The training was designed to align with the Education 4.0 initiative, which focuses on transforming education through advanced technology and automation utilizing Artificial Intelligence in classroom setup. Its primary objective was the foresight of futuristic teachers on technology education, uses, importance, and delimitation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs as emerging technologies in education demonstrate AI application and programs for EPP/TLE/TVL subjects; and utilize free AI application tools for quality teaching and learning.

Dr. Joel I. Vasallo, EPS in TLE, delivered his opening remarks, welcoming all participants joyfully. 


Session 1 was conducted by Dr. Joel I. Vasallo, EPS-TLE.Dr. Vasallo discussed the Foresight of FT on Technical Education and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence to Artificial Intelligence. This covered the importance of AI in Education, the use of AI, and its limitations. Through these explanations, participants were enlightened on the main purpose of Artificial Intelligence in the field of education.

        The participant registration commenced at 8:00 in the morning, during which attendees were treated to breakfast.

     The program was hosted by Ms. Reynalyn San Pedro, Teacher III of Aguinaldo J. Santos, and began with the National Anthem, followed by a prayer, and a rendition of the DepEd Bulacan March through an audio-visual presentation.

         After the opening program, participants took a health break, following which Session 1 was conducted by Dr. Joel I.  Division IT Officer

   the Division IT Officer, Mr. Richard Biglete let the participants be informed on the Emerging Technologies in Education. He also explained the SAMR and TPACK.

       A well-prepared lunch was provided, offering participants a chance to recharge. The afternoon session was conducted by Dr. Jay-Ar Tayao, EPS, who focused on Microsoft AI Tool AI in Education, this discussion equipped the participants on the interface of AI apps in MS Teams. Dr. Jay explored the Bing, Designer, and AI in MS Excel.

Beyond the collaborative session, an energizer was provided to boost the energy level of every participant and to power up themselves as the training continued.

 

       


Ms. Perlita G. Pagdanganan

DEPS

 

The discussion of Ms. Perlita G. Pagdanganan, DEPS, the discussion focused on the Application of GPT-4. It explained the overview of Chat GPT, the advantages and disadvantages of the application, and how it works relatively in education.

       At the end of the sessions, the participants displayed a great deal of curiosity and enthusiasm. They engaged actively by asking questions to gain a deeper understanding. Their eagerness fostered an environment that encouraged the exchange of insights. Day 1 concluded at 5 PM, and everyone felt a sense of accomplishment and successful knowledge sharing.

Day 2

 Participants engaged in a management learning session led by the EDDIS V. The session commenced with a nationalistic song and a prayer. An energizer was then presented, invigorating everyone, and fostering a lively atmosphere. This was followed by a recap of yesterday's session.



Ms. Nica Marie B. Magisa

Head Teacher III



The morning session, led by Ms. Nica Marie B. Magisa, Head Teacher III of Parada NHS, featured different educational artificial intelligence applications. As the speaker demonstrated different applications simultaneously participants did the hands-on activity as they explored those applications. The discussant also gave different categories of Educational AI tools such as AI Image Enhancers, AI Presentation Designer, AI Code generator, and others.


The next discussant, focused on the enhance classroom engagement and learning, wherein he allowed the participants to have a walkthrough on two (2) AI applications such as Eduaide.Ai and Magic Room AI.

After lunch, Dr. Cecilia S. Custodio, SGOD Chief gave her message to the participants conducted monitoring on the L and D of the said activity, and explained the objectives and purposes of Learning and Development to teachers.

The last speaker focused on the AI Image Enhancer wherein the participants explored six (6) AI applications that would help them to create more interactive images that they could apply in their classes and share with their students.

An inspirational message was delivered by the two (2) Assistant Schools Division Superintendents, Mam Rowena T. Quiambao, CESO, and Mam Maria Celina L. Vega, CESO VI. They both emphasized that true learning in the training will only seen if this would be delivered to their co-teachers and learners. Also, they stressed that this training can be said to create an impact if this would be applied in their respective schools. They also challenge the participants to be futuristic educators wherein they need to adapt to the changes happening in the field of education.

After all the sessions given to the participants, two (2) representatives from the participants demonstrated their created lesson plans with the integration of AI Applications in a classroom-based set-up. Indeed, as the two representatives executed their lessons, it proved that AI can already be part of their teaching strategies to enhance to create more innovative ideas to make their classes more interactive with the learners.

Following the session, participants were treated to a snack to refuel as they diligently completed their tasks, preparing for the presentation and critique of their output.

The event came to an end with a closing program. As part of the program, a nationalistic song was performed and a teacher presented a challenge to the participants. The teacher urged them to apply the knowledge and skills they had acquired during the training, and set forth a call to action. In response, a teacher accepted the challenge on behalf of the participants. His acceptance symbolized their commitment to implementing what they had learned and making a positive impact within their respective schools.

   During this part of the program, another teacher provided a way forward and valuable insights and guidance to enhance the participant's understanding of the training.

    Dr. Joel I. Vasallo spoke about the significance of integrating Artificial Intelligence into education.

        Participants were reminded to share their feedback and evaluation through the provided link. This feedback is valuable for assessing the effectiveness of the seminar and making improvements for future events.

Afterwards, the awards ceremony acknowledged the contributions of the host school, learning facilitators, resource speakers, and the members of the TWGs and participants. The successful conclusion of the roll-out event took place at 5 p.m., which was marked by the distribution of certificates and the serving of snacks. The event celebrated the collective achievements and contributions of everyone involved.
