Misssion Statement: Every parent or guardian of a BUGS student as well as every teacher at BUGS is automatically a member of the BUGS PTA. The BUGS PTA strives to support and advocate for our children by partnering with staff, families, and the wider community to create a safe and healthy learning environment where students get excited about learning, gain confidence, and achieve their potential.

PTA SUCCESSFUL EVENTS

Bought the BUGS basketball team new uniforms
Hosted a Happy Hour and Book Swap for parents
Hosted Family picnics in Prospect Park to support socialization between students and a BUGS Family Bike Ride
Presented an overview of the NYC High school admission process for families.
Contributed supplies and food for multiple student-led community service projects
Sponsored Teacher Appreciation Week! We bought all teachers and staff a digital subscription to the New York Times and hosted an end of week Happy Hour with beverages and snacks.
Subsidized the end of school year field trips
Hosted a BUGS Back-to-School-Family picnic
Sold gently used BUGS uniforms at a discount
Bought t-shirts for all 6th graders and new incoming students
Sponsored the Orientation Week LeFrak roller skating trip, alleviating the need to ask parents to pay field trip fees.
