My two Grandsons: Hunter and Connor

Hello!!!

Whether it be jumping out of a plane, diving down into the equatorial depths of the Pacific Ocean, surfing or playing in the snow with my grandson, I am always up for an adventure!

This will be my 24th year as a teacher at Jonata Middle School and WOW what an adventure it has been and continues to be. In those 24 years I have researched sea turtles in Hawai'i, worked alongside NOAA researchers, conducted citizen scientist research and led many a high school and Jonata volleyball team to CIF and championship Tournaments.

This last summer I kayaked the San Juan Islands looking for orcas and camped under the nest of a family of bald eagles! I slept under the stars at Angel Lake in North Eastern Nevada, drove on Bonneville Salt Flats, played with our grandkids in Denver and went Mountain Biking in the Red Cliffs of Utah.

I am looking forward to the 2022-23 school year and all the magic it will bring.

Warmly,

Mrs. Chavis
