He lives and works in Wrocław, Poland. Currently employed at The E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland. He is the co-founder of Misprint in Wrocław.
Ionannis received his Ph.D. in Art from The E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland in 2023. Obtained Master Degree in Printmaking School of Visual and Applied Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, AUTh. His work includes social and political contexts. He incorporates relief, intaglio, planographic, and experimental printmaking techniques in creating 3-D objects, installations, artists’ books, and prints. He received multiple awards and distinctions for his work and has been exhibited in more than 120 international exhibitions and competitions. His works belong to various public and private museum collections. He participated in various international conferences, symposiums, workshops, art publications, and journals. He is a co- organizer of PrintCard Wroclaw - International Prints Exchange.
Since almost anything may stand for almost anything else, symbols may stand for things or elements other than themselves. The series of works Déjà vu is based on representations of items residing in the realm of collective memory; glimpses from the everyday to the peculiar, from war to remembrance, from the intelligible, to the unsavory, from the past to the present to possible futures.
