Charles Deslondes: The main leader of the slave uprising who led more than 200 rebels along the Mississippi River and into the city of New Orleans. He inspired one of the most important slave campaign of resistance in history, influencing later slave revolts and rebellions of men including Nat Turner and John Brown.
William C.C. Claiborne: Territorial Governor of the Territory of Orleans during this insurrection who wrote numerous letters throughout the rebellion to the Secretary of State ensuring the safety of their area.
Manuel Andry: Plantation owner who was the first victim of the slave insurrection as he was attacked and wounded by approximately 15 slaves. This uprising first began at the plantation of Andry on January 8th, 1811.
