Have you ever wanted to start your own business or website? In this class for budding entrepreneurs, that’s exactly what you’ll do! You’ll work with a classmate to come up with a simple company idea, taking it as far as it will go before the class ends. You’ll create a business plan, enlist friends and family, and set up everything you need to be a junior entrepreneur: a first email address, a basic app or website, and a presentation. Ultimately, you’ll share your idea with friends and family, work hard to get a first customer, and present all your progress to the whole class. This program focuses on individual skill, fitness, and sportsmanship, providing an opportunity for the children to be challenged through fun games and team interaction. Children are introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner.
Animal Explorations
with the Science Museum
of Long Island
(Grades Pre-K to 6)
Do you love animals? Have you wished you could be one on one with a snake, chinchilla, and more? Well then, this class is for you! Meet weekly with a live animal! Learn about how each group of animals is unique and adapted to survive as you interact with various animal residents of SMLI. What's the difference between a turtle and a tortoise? Let Rudy & Crush show you! Each week will feature an informational book on the animal of that week, followed by live animal presentation and related craft. Study Hall is available to students in grades Pre-K through 8 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Students will report to the Dining Room at 3:00 P.M. and sign in with the Study Hall teacher.
Please Note:
Students who attend Study Hall are encouraged to do their homework.
Chromebooks may not be used unless needed for homework.
Additional games, books, and activities are available for students who do not have homework.

Little Medical School is a fun, hands-on STEM enrichment experience that brings real medical tools and health education to children. Students explore healthcare careers, learn about the human body, and build essential life skills through engaging activities.
Our program offers students the chance to:
● Explore the World of Healthcare: Engage with topics like anatomy, first aid, and medical tools in an age-appropriate and interactive way.
● Build Confidence and Lifelong Skills: Participate in hands-on activities, such as using stethoscopes, applying bandages, and understanding healthy habits.
● Discover STEM Careers: Learn about careers in healthcare and how they can make a difference in their community.

Calling all sixth through eighth grade girls who want to be a Girl Scout Cadette! Buckley Country Day School's Girl Scout Troop 1052 has a limited number of openings for new members. The Girl Scouts meet every other Friday at Buckley with Buckley mom and troop leader, Ms. Shalini Mimani (mom of Leela Kissane, class of 2026 and Priya Kissane, class of 2028), to work on a variety of projects emphasizing leadership and service to the Buckley community. We meet at 4 pm to accommodate our 7th and 8th graders, but 6th graders are welcome to go to study hall (for free) until we meet. Outside of school, the Girl Scouts go on camping trips, participate in service projects, learn new skills, and build bonds with one another. Costs include dues to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County ($40), the cost for the uniform (vest, pins, and patches) (~$50), and occasional costs for individual activities. We will accept new members on a first come-first serve basis.
