Library Schedule:

• Each homeroom is scheduled to come to the library at a specific time each week for instruction and book selection.

Library Procedures:

• Bring books up between 8:10-8:40 for return

• Enter the library quietly

• Get ready for storytime!

• Quietly search for books in areas designated by grade

• Use a shelf marker and choose a book or books.

• Line up at the check out station and return shelf marker

• Check out your book or books and return to the carpet area until time to line up.

Circulation Policies:

All Students :

• Students will have library orientation and complete lessons on library manners and procedures before they may check out a book.

TK:

Storytime only, no book checkout.

Kindergarten:

Students will keep their library books in the classroom until the classroom teacher and librarian agree that the students are responsible and ready to take a book home.

First Graders:

Students must keep  their library books in the classroom until the classroom teacher, librarian and parent agree that the student is responsible and ready to take a book home.

Second Graders:

Students are allowed to check out two books.  

Third through Fifth Graders:

Students are allowed to check out three books. They generally check out books in their AR range per their teacher's instruction.

Respect Others:

• Enter and Exit the library quietly.

• Walk, do not run.

• Listen to stories, lessons and directions.

• Speak softly in the library.

• Read quietly.

• Keep hand, feet and objects to yourself.

• In addition, all school rules apply in regards to proper behavior.

Respect Library Property:

• Keep books clean and dry.

• Never write or color on pages.

• Keep books in a safe place.

• Only use book markers to save your place in a book.

• Return books on time.

• Make sure book spines are always on display.

• Take care of library furnishings, displays and equipment.

• In addition, all school rules apply in regards to proper behavior.

Respect Library Staff

• Listen and follow directions given by librarian.

• Treat Library staff with courtesy.

• In addition, all school rules apply in regards to proper behavior.

• Say please, Thank you, Work hard, Have fun and READ, READ and READ!
