Sight words your child is learning is from our SIPPS literacy curriculum and is dependent on your child's reading group. The sight words and decodable words your child is learning that week is found in your child's homework binder.
One way to help your child with reading is to practice the sight words in the binder as much as possible. This helps building confidence in reading when there are many familiar words in a story!
Homework binder goes home on Monday and needs to be returned on Fridays. The binder contains SIPPS stories your child is learning that week as well as math worksheets that correlate with the math topic we are learning. We ask that you please read nightly (SIPPS stories or your own books)! As you do something at home with your child whether it is nightly reading or working on the math worksheet you will color in one spot on the homework log. Homework logs are due at the end of each month.
The Friday Bag contains the class work for your child. Please take a moment to go through the contents with your child. This will help keep you informed about what we are learning in class, also help your child review important information they are learning. Some of the pages will not be completed because of time limits and some papers will say, "Finish at Home". The contents of the bag is yours to keep! Please return the EMPTY bag on Monday.
