Buckeye Math Resources
Buckeye Math Resources
This site was created to provide parents, caregivers, and teachers with helpful resources to support our Buckeye students in mathematics.
On each grade-level page, you will find:
A Family-Friendly Guide to the Math Standards — an easy-to-understand overview of what students are expected to learn at each grade level.
Math Unit Videos — short videos explaining the important skills and concepts taught in each math unit.
Math Vocabulary Glossary — definitions of important math words and terms students will use throughout the year.
Printable Math Tools — helpful resources you can print and use to support learning and practice at home or at school.
We hope these resources make it easier to understand what your child is learning in math and provide simple ways to support their learning at home.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our Buckeye students grow as confident mathematician

Greg Tang demonstrates methods for teaching addition and subtraction that prioritize conceptual understanding before introducing standard algorithms. By encouraging students to break down numbers and explore various problem-solving strategies, this approach aims to build stronger number sense and mathematical proficiency, preparing them for more complex academic challenges in later grades. Helpful for those working with first and second grade students. 6:26
Discover easy ways to divide larger numbers by breaking them down into simpler parts. Learn how to make math problems more manageable for clear understanding. Helpful for those working with third-fifth grade students. 2:59
Learn how to multiply fractions like 1/3 x 1/2 by thinking about groups and sizes. This clear explanation helps break down the concept for students new to fractions. Helpful for those working with fourth and fifth grade students. 2:55
Becky Lord of LordMath.com explores five cognitive areas that affect math learning: working memory, processing speed, verbal comprehension, visual processing, and fluid reasoning. This is a great video for teachers, but can also be helpful for parents whose child struggles with math.
Students’ struggles in these areas can make it difficult to follow directions, recognize patterns, process information, or understand how math concepts connect. Teachers can support students by simplifying directions, reducing visual and verbal clutter, using more white space, and intentionally sequencing problems so patterns are easier to recognize. 15:53
