Next Steps

There are several things I want to continue working on with this project:

• Modify the chip's firmware to allow for Single-Sideband (SSB) modulation

  • SSB modulation is used for amateur radio communications, digital modes (software encodes the signal into a data stream before transmission), and Slow-Scan Television (SSTV).

  • This modification will require loading the firmware onto an EEPROM before flashing it to the chip

• Build a proper RF-shielded enclosure for the radio to make it portable while minimizing environmental noise

• Try out building different antennas for receiving certain signals

• Using a smaller microcontroller (Arduino nano)
