Spanish Placement Test
Please click on this link to set up an account and to access the placement test. You will need your university ID number when taking this test.
Full instructions are provided within the test webpage. You can take this test at any time before the start of classes, from any location. Non-CAS colleges have their own specific requirements.
Please do not use dictionaries or other assistance when taking the test. This may result in incorrect placement and you will have to change classes in the first week of the semester.

Major in Spanish
Eleven 4-credit courses (completed with a C or higher) are required for the major
Required Courses
Two courses from among LS306, LS307, LS308, LS310, LS311
Heritage students should take LS309
Native speakers should begin with LS350
Six LS courses to include LS350 (unless already completed), two LS courses at the 300-level, three courses at the 400-level, and two courses at the 500-level.
Elective Courses
LS 400- or 500-level offerings in Hispanic literature, culture. or film
Courses numbered LP 211 or higher in Portuguese language or Luso-Brazilian literature, culture, or film
