Voting

A community decision on the district's future

The Boonton Township School District is asking our community to participate in a bond referendum on March 12.  Your vote in this referendum truly matters, as local school elections are sometimes decided by narrow margins. To make your voice heard, be sure you are registered at your current address.

DATES FOR VOTERS TO KNOW

February 20 – Deadline for new/updated registration

March 5 – County’s last day to receive Vote By Mail applications if those are sent by mail*

March 12 – Vote at polls, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; last day for mail-in ballots

Voters also can hand-deliver applications through 3 p.m. March 11

VOTE IN PERSON

Polls will be open at the Boonton Township Municipal Building on Tuesday, March 12, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Does your registration need a refresh? To participate in this referendum, your voter registration must be updated by February 20.

Provisional voting: A back-up ballot

What happens if you go to the polls, and you’re told you can’t vote?

Ask for a provisional ballot, which preserves your vote until officials can check their records. Provisional ballots are counted once it can be confirmed that the voter did not cast another valid ballot.

VOTE BY MAIL

Mail-in voting is a convenient option and eliminates the chance that inclement weather or a busy schedule will keep you from the polls.

Track your ballot using the state of New Jersey voter portal. Setting up an account is free, and while this step is optional, it’s the only way to reliably monitor the status of your ballot online.
