Voting
A community decision on the district's future
The Boonton Township School District is asking our community to participate in a bond referendum on March 12. Your vote in this referendum truly matters, as local school elections are sometimes decided by narrow margins. To make your voice heard, be sure you are registered at your current address.

March 5 – County’s last day to receive Vote By Mail applications if those are sent by mail*

Does your registration need a refresh? To participate in this referendum, your voter registration must be updated by February 20.
If you have recently moved and are unsure if your registration is up to date, check the state’s voter registration records.
Register to vote or update your info on the state’s Voter Information Portal site.
If you have previously registered to vote, you do not need to take action unless you have changed your legal name or address.
Provisional voting: A back-up ballot
What happens if you go to the polls, and you’re told you can’t vote?
Ask for a provisional ballot, which preserves your vote until officials can check their records. Provisional ballots are counted once it can be confirmed that the voter did not cast another valid ballot.
VOTE BY MAIL
Mail-in voting is a convenient option and eliminates the chance that inclement weather or a busy schedule will keep you from the polls.
Check your Vote by Mail status by contacting the Morris County Clerk’s Office. Any registered voter can request a mail-in ballot for a specific type of election or for all elections.
Apply for a Vote by Mail Ballot. To receive a ballot in the mail, your application must arrive at the County Clerk’s Office no later than March 5. To receive a mail-in ballot in person, hand-deliver your application by 3 p.m. March 11 to the County Clerk’s Office.
Mail your ballot by the day of the election! All mailed ballots must be postmarked by March 12. Ballots may be sent in the mail or deposited in a dropbox at the Municipal Building.
Track your ballot using the state of New Jersey voter portal. Setting up an account is free, and while this step is optional, it’s the only way to reliably monitor the status of your ballot online.
