Service Overview
Our Data Security and Privacy Support Service assists school districts' development and ongoing compliance with Part 121 of the Commissioner's Regulations relating to Ed Law 2-d.

In partnership with RIC one, NYSED, and other entities, the tools and resources we develop will help your district accomplish the following requirements of Ed Law 2-d and Part 121 Regulations.
Regional Session Schedule
The SCRIC DSP regional sessions provide districts with practical guidance and updates on data security, privacy, and compliance. These sessions are designed to help Data Protection Officers and their districts stay ahead of regulatory requirements and implement effective district-wide practices.
In each session, participants will:
Review updates to key data privacy and security laws and regulations, NYSED requirements, and district compliance responsibilities
Discuss Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs), incident response planning, and staff training best practices
Explore the transition from NIST CSF 1.1 to 2.0 and align district efforts with the updated framework
Highlight district cybersecurity initiatives and tools that can strengthen protections
Prepare for NYSED Data Security Reviews and other regulatory expectations
Highlight new resources, share regional updates, and engage in Q&A discussions
