MyApps is a product that was deployed during the summer of 2018 to replace the RICOne account authentication service. One complaint we hear multiple times was how cumbersome it was to log in with RICOne; having to select you school and enter your email multiple times.... and we understand. MyApps looks to solve that.
Once you have successfully completed the initial set up for MyApps (see this page for details on initial set up of MyApps), by logging into a district issued laptop, Chromebook, or mac (with some limitations) you are all set to go. And all it will take to log in is your district email and network password. Yes... that's it.
One way is to double click the MyApps icon on your desktop. Keep in mind, this method works best on a Windows machine, and will not work on a Chromebook. Furthermore, using MyApps this way may NOT give you access to any bookmarks, saved passwords, and/or extensions that you have saved in your Chrome web browser.
A second way to access (this does work on Chromebooks) is by going to the website: myapps.(schooldomain).org
By clicking on any of the icons listed, you will be linked over to that site, and you should be automatically logged it. In short, MyApps acts as a traveling bookmark that saves your password and updates it as necessary.
Another way to access MyApps is using the Chrome web browser extension pre-installed on your browser (the blue ring in the right corner of your web browser shown in the picture below)
Once you have successfully completed the initial set up of MyApps, and visited the website myapps.(schooldomain) mentioned above, clicking on that blue ring should activate a drop down menu that shows the same buttons (see picture below). You can click on the buttons of that drop down menu the same way you can click on the buttons at the website.
In the past, if you couldn't remember your network password it usually involved calling people, or creating a ServiceNOW ticket to have your password reset. Thanks to the information provided in the initial set up of MyApps you have the ability to reset your password directly.
The SCRIC Team is currently working on adding more services to MyApps, but if you would like to forward suggestions to me at rbray@btboces.org I will do my best to pass them along. Please keep in mind some of the criteria for being added to MyApps, the website needs to be an enterprise service. This usually involves a "paid account" status, but is much more complicated. An enterprise solution has the ability to communicate with the student information system in order to allow the user to log in.
If you have any questions about MyApps, please feel free to email me directly. If you believe your MyApps is not working properly, you can also fill out a ServiceNOW ticket.
