How often am I going to have to do this?
If things are working correctly, you should only do this the first time you log into MyApps. Not the first time you log in on a specific machine, the very first time you EVER log in to MyApps.
Of course, things don't always work perfectly, so we appreciate your patience with this!
Do you really expect students to do this?
No.
Students don't have the ability to reset passwords in MyApps (at this time). All the information collected in this initial set up portion of MyApps is to be used in the event you want to reset your password.
Since students can't change passwords, their initial log in should just have them enter their school email and network password (same as it was before MyApps), and poof! They should be all set!
Again, things aren't always perfect, so thank you again for your patience!
The first time you try to log in using MyApps, you will be prompted to enter information like a phone number in the window below. This phone number must be able to accept text messages (SMS), as your verification code will be send via text. This phone number can be used to reset your password (and verification messages for that process will also be sent by SMS text message.
You can skip this step by clicking "Remind me later", however, you will be asked to input a number each time you log in.
After entering your phone number, a text will be sent to you with a numeric code (no dashes... the number with dashes is the "phone number" the text was sent from). Enter the verification code in the text box and click "Verify".
From there, you will be asked to answer a set of security questions that will be used in the even you request a password reset.
Once you have completed the initial set up process, you should be directed to the landing page for MyApps, which looks similar to the image below.
If you have any questions about MyApps, please feel free to email me directly. If you believe your MyApps is not working properly, you can also fill out a ServiceNOW ticket.
