School creates events and celebrates festivals to ensure that it is an ecosystem for inspired learning. Parents are expected to join in some events and support participation of their children in some events.

" Respect for the national festival and significance of saluting the flag on 15th August", is an ideal we wish to imbibe in every child .
Parents should attend this event to help the child grow up with the ideals of 'Me and My Country, we grow together'.

TEACHERS DAY

5th September is celebrated as Teachers Day in India.
School does not encourage gifts. But, wishes and greetings are welcome from parents and students.
Wishes from parents and students motivate the teachers.
Street Store in September
(Parents and acorns can attend to see or help)
Silver Oaks organises a Street Store every September wherein, all that we have in excess and unused can be spared for those in need. Migrant workers to local labourers and those in need wait for this event to take what is offered in street store.
we collect clothes, utensils, shoes, bags, suitcases, kitchen ware, bedsheets to toys, anything which is in fairly good condition and useful to others.
Street store will display all these collected items for people to pick up what they want.
we encourage you to gather items for this event and send them through your child to the school.
Parents and children can come to see or help in the distribution. This is organised on a Sunday morning.
Ramleela: The Good Habits Festival in October

Silver Oaks created good habits festival to encourage children to reflect on their good habits and shed the bad habits.
Dress Code: Traditional Clothes
Parents can discuss with children and help them in this reflection and cheer their honesty.
Diwali
(Only for Acorns)
Day 1
School is their second home. When children clean and decorate their classrooms and share the spirit of Diwali together, it lights up their spirits. Do send Marigolds.
Dress Code for cleaning & Decorating: Old T Shirt over the uniform and Mask.
Day 2
Acorns gather on Day 2 for celebrating Diwali in their decorated classrooms and share sweets. Please send some sweets.
Dress Code: Traditional Clothes
Please encourage them to participate and listen to their stories.
Children's Day. Happy Month. November

School endeavours to create a platform to show case children's talents during this month. If your child has a talent acquired inherently or through sincere training , he or she is welcome to present.
Annual Days/ Opera/Showtime
(Parents to attend)
Annual Presentations of drama/dance/music is a great platform for children to overcome stage fear, acquire stage confidence and develop team spirit.
Silver Oaks is known for inclusive shows with a message and meaning. Costumes are planned with cost effectiveness and reuse. However, sometimes, the themes or roles may not have costumes which can be reused.
Parents are requested to encourage children to participate in these shows as they learn to be confident on stage in whatever role they play.
Children feel complete only when parents attend these shows.
Please appreciate the entire show and not just your child. This can teach a valuable lesson to your child.
Christmas Celebrations

The colour and splendour of a Christmas celebration has its own magic.
And we at Silver Oaks like to create magic during this festival of bonhomie and togetherness.
Th riot of red and white dresses bring that spirit.
When parents encourage, children participate with enthusiasm.
Inter House Sports Competitions - November or December
(Only for Acorns)
Grades 3 to 6, InterHouse Sports Competitions will be conducted by Student Government and Activity Wing.
Coins for the Country in January or February
( Parents may attend)
Silver Oaks wishes that all acorns grow up with the idea that 'me and my country, we grow together.
Coins for the country is an initiative to save and earn coins to help the less privileged children to get education.
From June to January, children should be encouraged to save or earn money for this noble cause.
Parents can play a large role in this.
Towards the end of January, this annual collection is donated to a NGO which helps less privileged children get education.
Parents can attend this event to appreciate all children who are building nation.
It is not charity but responsibility.
Republic Day
26th January at 8.30AM
The mega event of Republic Day Parade in Delhi is an unmissable event.
Therefore, School encourages acorns and parents to watch this show live and learn about the might and achievements of India.
Beating the Retreat
29th January at 5PM.
Parents and acorns are encouraged to watch this event on TV and appreciate the talents of our forces.
